Ngày 21/07/1954, Hiệp định Giơ-ne-vơ về kết thúc chiến tranh lập lại hòa bình ở Đông Dương được ký kết. Vĩ tuyến 17 được chọn làm ranh giới quân sự
tạm thời và dự định sẽ thống nhất bằng một cuộc tuyển cử tự do vào tháng 07/1956, song đã không thành hiện thực. Việt Nam bị chia cắt thành hai miền.
Với khát vọng hòa bình, độc lập, thống nhất, từ cuối năm 1959, hàng trăm đoàn cán bộ từ miền Bắc đã bí mật vượt Trường Sơn vào Nam trực tiếp chiến đấu hoặc phục vụ chiến đấu, giải phóng miền Nam được gọi là “đi B”. Đó là những y sĩ, bác sĩ, giáo viên, kỹ sư, các nhà văn, nghệ sĩ, nhà báo… Họ là những anh hùng, tình nguyện làm nhiệm vụ bí mật.
Triển lãm “VINH DANH NHỮNG ANH HÙNG THẦM LẶNG” nhằm tri ân, tôn vinh những cán bộ đi B khát khao hòa bình, độc lập tự do vì hạnh phúc Việt Nam giữa thế kỷ XX qua những tư liệu, kỷ vật của cán bộ đi B trong số hơn 72.000 hồ sơ đang được lưu trữ tại Trung tâm Lưu trữ quốc gia III, Việt Nam. Triển lãm gồm 03 nội dung:
- Hội nghị Giơ-ne-vơ về chấm dứt chiến tranh lập lại hòa bình ở Việt Nam
- Khát vọng hòa bình
- Ngày về…

INTRODUCTION
On July 21st, 1954, the Geneva Accords on ending the war and restoring peace established North and South Vietnam with the 17th parallel as the partition line. It was also stipulated that elections would be held within two years to unify Vietnam under a single democratic government. These elections never happen. The United States gradually intervened in the South of Vietnam.
With a desire for peace, independence and unification, the Vietnamese people continued their resistance struggle to defend the country. Since the end of the 1950s, thousands of civil soldiers from the North had moved to the South, coded as "Moving to the B battlefield". They were doctors, teachers, engineers, writers, artists, journalists... They were heroes volunteering on secret missions.
The exhibition entitled "Honoring Silent Heroes" is aimed to pay tribute and honor to civil soldiers through records. These valuable records and personal memorabilia are selected from more than 72,000 records being in custodian of the National Archives Center 3 in Vietnam.
The exhibition includes three parts:
- Geneva Conference on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam.
- Desire for peace.
- Return day...
